You Must Be Coachable, Teachable, and Willing to Work on Yourself. Just a few weekends back I was at a Company training event for my primary business that was absolutely terrific. The energy at these Company events is something that has to be experienced it’s not something that can be described. Once you’ve been to an event like that you’ll know what I mean and you’ll want to go again and again. You’ll want to get as many people on your team there as possible. You’ll be glad you did. The effect and results will astound you. Since that event the last several weeks have been spent designing new presentations, mastering new information gleaned from the event, and reflecting on all that I experienced. I’ve been trying to keep the experience as fresh as possible in mind and spirit. I wish that I could just bottle some of the experience, and duplicate it with the same impact and magnitude that only a live event can provide. I would make it immediately available for my own, and everyone else’s teams. Sharing is the next best thing, and so what follows is just some of the insights and growth I’ve had from the event. These are some golden nuggets picked up from the event: “You have to work as hard, or even harder on yourself than your business in order to succeed in this industry.” Wow… I was just astounded when I heard it. Someone just came out and told it like it is for a change. Most people, companies, Guru’s, and trainers jump arround the subject, want you to sign up for their success club, buy their training, etc., but few ever come out and just lay it down so clearly as it was presented at this event. “Your attitude is the foundation for it all. If you don’t master personal development you can have the greatest product/presentation/and company in the industry and still you will fail.” “Remember people join people in this industry, not products, not pay plans, and not opportunities.” “They join you.” Having a background as a success mentor and author has always given me a little different perspective on MLM then perhaps many other “Gurus” and teachers out there. Many trainers hammer systems, tools, and trainings aimed at moving you to stellar MLM success. All you have to do is follow the simple outline and plan, or so they say. And to a large degree that is true. Unfortunately many of the so called MLM success plans only address the outside oneself aspects of the MLM Success Equation. These could be considered external techniques. The problem is many will never get to accomplishing the external action steps required for MLM success until they first do some internal work. Others can apply all the external action steps in the world but still will not attract success until their internal realm becomes accommodating.. These are the inside oneself aspects of the success equation, or the internal action steps required to succeed. If you haven’t heard someone tell you yet that success is an inside job, then you need to start listening better, and even then that only half the truth. To really succeed in this industry you will need both, mastery of self (an internal job) and mastery of process (an external job). No success is immediate. It is a cumulative effect of small daily disciplines, a slight edge. It is a slight deviation from the course of action that everyone else is on. Success in not something you pursue it is something you become. Most of it is an inside job and this is where people seem to fail dreadfully and then cite an abundance of outside reasons as the cause. Systems work and we don’t need to re-invent the wheel of Network Marketing Success, what we need to start doing is re-inventing ourselves. To illustrate this point the following questions all represent inside aspects of the success equation necessary for success in MLM. Answer these questions honestly and evaluate the distance between where you stand now and where you need to stand to succeed in achieving your goals. It is my guess most of us will find we need to get our self-improvement plans in order immediately. Are you showing up regularly for success? “ Do you consistently make small improvements and take the necessary baby steps each day that will take you to the life you desire most? “ Does your attitude cause you to be liked, to be considered a person of value, the kind of person you would want to join and follow in business? “ Are you committed to the long haul that may be necessary for your development and the development of your business and your dreams “ Do you possess the necessary faith to take that first step before the way presents itself? “ Are you firm in your purpose and clear about your reasons why? “ Are you ablaze with a burning desire in your heart to achieve your dreams? “ Do your actions and deeds radiate integrity? “ Are you willing to pay the price and make the sacrifices your dreams and goals may require of you today? You must understand one cornerstone principle to achieve recruting success in this industry. Without it you will fail. People join People not companies, products, or pay plans. Among other things you must present an attractive character and you must convey value to your prospects. They won’t join you without it. To be persuasive you need to be a person of quality and value. To do that you must convey primarily three things, Trust, Integrity, and Respect. Strive to be a quality person, a person of value and integrity, a positive enthusiastic addition to every environment you are in and you will do well. The foundation formula for Your Success: 1.) One is to master awareness. Listen, Sense, and Intuit. Become constantly awake to the opportunities that surround you every moment of every day. My question is this: how can you achieve this objective when your primary focus is upon yourself? How can you become attuned to the needs of others, seek them out, and present solutions if your head is focused on you and your “stuff”. How can the concerns of others enter your being and your consciousness daily if that space is already full and occupied? You are in a business of helping people, of finding needs and filling them so show it. Make the shift internally.. People will notice and be attracted to the change in you. You’ll become more successful as a result. 2.) Your Attitude. How is your attitude influencing the general environment and the people arround you?. Are you a positive addition to every environment you are in? Are people apt to feel like they have gained a new best friend after they meet you? Do you light up a room with your presence and charm or do you suck the life out of it? How would those who know you best rate you? What would they say about the energy you radiate? Your attitude alone can cause you to be attractive or repellant in the eyes of others. If you were choosing your board of directors and the officers for your new multimillion dollar marketing company, would you want to choose you? You cannot overestimate the value of a great attitude when it comes right from your core. It’s worth more than gold and it is incredibly attractive to others. If you don’t possess a great attitude that radiates from within you already, then I suggest you start making immediate plans to achieve one. No one needs to be perfect here, but all these elemnts of self will directly impact your results in this industry. 3.) The third part of this simple plan is all about your actions… Do you regularly seize opportunities to assist otherswhen you uncover them? Do you make it a point to seek out the needs of others regularly, look for and provide solutions that will assist them, and help them get what they want and need most out of life? Do you follow the crowd or lead the crowd? Do you follow through with your commitments and strongly back your word? Do you posess integrity? Are you waiting for opportunity to find you or are you out seeking and creating it each day? Consistent action is the bedrock upon which success is built. Are you building your business firmly upon granite, or are you setting up camp in the sand? What would others who know you answer if they were asked these questions about your character? Answers to these questions are a success barometer for the inner strategy aspects of your MLM Business. If you will be honest with yourself you can fairly grade your performance. I’d be willing to bet that all of us can find room for improvement. The slight edge difference we make every day to improve ourselves and our results overtime makes all the difference in the end. These are the daily disciplines that eventually take us to the lives we’ve always wanted to live and to abundant MLM Success. So many network marketers face major challenges when it comes to MLM recruiting . Network marketing success depends heavily on how well you can recruit and build your downline. When I joined my first network marketing business I struggled with bringing quality recruits into my MLM and struggled even more to get grow my downline. Looking back at my challenges I realized that I was just not ready to for success. I lacked influence and avoided connecting with my team because I was scared. I was scared and I had a lack of belief – I just didn’t think people would want to follow me and if they did, how would I know how to lead them. You must know and believe that you can lead people to success. You must be able to show them the right tools and train them in the right way. I mean what it the point in bringing someone in to your business if you yourself don’t 100% believe it’s a good one. When you are able to posture and act in a way that will attract people to you, your opportunity and the lifestyle this industry offers, only then will you start to see a shift in you network marketing success. How Do I Focus On MLM Recruiting For Network Marketing Success? 1. Don’t throw your expectations on others Network marketing becomes a roller coaster when you get super happy and exciting when you sign up a new rep only to be down in the dumps when they don’t explode and take off like you want them to. Up one minute, down the next, back up, then down again when a new recruit disappoints you. You can not build your business based on the assumption that everyone you bring on board is going to want network marketing success as much as you do and once you release those expectations not only will you have more fun building your business, you won’t feel so much pressure. When the burden of building a business is reduced you find that success finds you much easier. 2. MLM Recruiting Confidence If you are unsure what to do when you get a new sign up it’s not because the right tools are not accessible to you, it’s because you don’t believe that you can teach your new recruits what it takes for network marketing success. You must be confident in the fact that you can recruit people in to your MLM and mentor them as their leader. You have to believe in the training, believe in the systems you have in place and believe that they have everything they need to make it! 3. Proper MLM Recruiting Training and Systems It’s not good enough to just recruit, recruit, recruit. You must train, train, train too! Personal develop, leadership skills and practical applications of being an entrepreneur are all things you must teach your new recruits. This is what will help them to grow and realize their own potential. While some companies provide better training than others, you must be 100% confident in the training you have in place for your reps. Training that if implemented correctly can almost guarantee their long term success. Network marketing success begins and ends with you and you are the one responsible for the success of your organization.
